More Sneaks

Above left, you can see the steel control rods which were inserted into the back of the athletic shoes, and their black hand grips. The rods attached to a plate which ran along the sole inside the shoe. It wasn't easy putting together materials that would withstand the constant impact of puppeteering the shoes from below. The footage was shot against an Ultimatte background (it's like chromakey), so all the rods had to be covered with Ultimatte green material, and green sleeves, seen in the photo above right, were made to cover the puppeteers' hands as well.
