For TMNT 2, I was the animatronic puppeteer for Tokka the Mutant Snapping Turtle. This means that during filming, I controlled all of the facial movements on Tokka's head and did his dialogue from off-camera, while on camera, a body suit performer wearing Tokka's head did all of the body movements. Later, all of Tokka's dialogue and grunting was dubbed over by voice artist Frank Welker.

| At left, you see Tokka's head on a stand in the Jim Henson's Creature Shop workroom. His head contained over 20 motors to move his eyes, eyelids, eyebrows, cheekbones, upper mandibles, beak, and jaw. Even his nostrils wiggled! That's a lot to keep track of, but it was fun to puppeteer! |
