More about making a plaster mold of the James Brown bobblehead.
Another wall of water-based clay is built around the mold to contain the next batch of plaster. Seperator must be applied to the sculpt AND the exposed plaster so the two parts of the mold don't stick together.
When the plaster is hard, you turn the whole thing over and carefully remove all the water-based clay. Now you have a head half embedded in plaster.
Plaster is built up over the back just like it was on the front. Once it hardens, all the water-based clay is removed, and you have a sculpt completely surrounded by plaster. | Now the two halves of the mold are carefully pulled apart. The sculpt is removed, and the mold cleaned of all clay residue. If any clay is left, the casting will not set up properly.
