George Lucas Visits AVENUE Q

Here it is, the penultimate STAR WARS encounter. The creator of STAR WARS, George Lucas, came to a performance of AVENUE Q in early August 2004. His daughters Katie and Amanda came with him, and a few of their friends. They came backstage, said hi, looked around the set, and chatted a bit about the puppets in our show, about the puppet Yoda, Frank Oz, and Jim Henson. No one knew he was coming, and I didn't see him in the audience - one of the composer/lyricists just happened to run into him as he was leaving the theatre. Unfortunately, I didn't have the presence of mind to have him sign anything because I was a bit awestruck.
