Here's the cast posing for a picture just before the 2001 Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade started. I'm puppeteering Big Bird. This was the first time I'd done Bird for the parade in a while -- it's a really long time to have your arm up over your head! And this year, when we got down to the front of Macy's, for our performance for NBC, my monitor went blank, so I was blind. Not exactly how you want to perform. I saw a tape of the show afterwards, and surprisingly, it really didn't look all that bad.
